The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India has issued the following statement today to the Media welcoming Supreme Court order on CBI probe into Vyapam scam:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India expresses its satisfaction over the verdict of the Supreme Court transferring the Vyapam case of Madhya Pradesh to the apex court. The comment of the Supreme Court on the state governor is very severe. An accused in a case of corruption coupled with crime and mysterious deaths cannot occupy a constitutional post. He should not also be allowed to enjoy any immunity.
The party urges upon the Union home minister to act immediately and sack the governor. The delay in transferring the case to the CBI and the refusal of the chief minister to transfer the case to the apex court have resulted in loss of valuable time towards identifying and punishing the guilty along with mysterious deaths of key witnesses.
Hence the CPI demands resignation of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on moral responsibility. His ego and failure to provide security to the innocent exposes his miserable failure as a chief minister. His resignation will definitely help an impartial enquiry.
