One Palestinian was killed and at least 396 others were injured as Israeli shelling and snipers targeted protesters who gathered along Gaza-Israel border for the 15th consecutive weekly “Great March of Return” nonviolent demonstration on Friday, July 6, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Mohammad Jamal Abu Halima, 22, died of a chest wound from the shelling which targeted a crowd of protesters along the Gaza border east of Gaza City. According to Palestinian medical sources, at least 396 protesters were either wounded by live ammunition or were injured as a result of teargas inhalation as Israeli forces continued to crack down on protests along the Gaza border fence.
