On September 2, the Acting Head of the DPR Dmitry Trapeznikov and Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin laid floral tribute to the Joseph Kobzon’s monument, which is located on a square near the Palace of Youth “Youth” in Donetsk.
Dmitry Trapeznikov reminded of the support provided by the great compatriot to the people of Donbass in his commentary to journalists.
ʺJoseph Davydovich Kobzon is a legend! He is our countryman, the son of Donbass. He was always there for us in the hour of need. When the Ukraine’s aggression started, Joseph Kobzon repeatedly visited us and supported our people,ʺ the Acting Head of the Republic said.
The citizens of the Republic continue to lay flowers to their favourite artist. It should be noted that the monument to Joseph Kobzon was erected in Donetsk exactly 15 years before the death of a famous singer – August 30, 2003.
Also, there is a photo of the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, who tragically died in a terrorist attack on August 31 this year.
Joseph Davydovich Kobzon was born on September 11, 1937, in Chasov Yar, Donetsk region, and passed away at 81 on August 30 in Moscow. He is the Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation, People’s Artist of the Donetsk People’s Republics, Lugansk People’s Republic, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Moldovan Transdniestrian Republic, academician of the Russian Academy of Humanities, Honorary citizen of 29 cities (including Donetsk), holder of three degrees of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”, Order of Courage and Honour, Medal “For Labour Valour”, Medal “Veteran of Labour”, three degrees of Miner’s Glory Medal and a huge number of other awards, titles, state and international awards. The funeral of Joseph Kobzon will be held on September 2 in the capital of the Russian Federation.
