Bolivarian Diplomacy analyzes the migration crisis in Honduras

Understanding that the migratory phenomenon in Central America is structural and is not recent, then it is necessary to contrast it with the migration phenomenon that our country is experiencing. For this, the researcher of Misión Verdad, Franco Vielma, was interviewed.

“In Colombia, Venezuelan migration is handled with the status of invasion, this information is disproportionate from every point of view”, said Vielma.

In this sense, the expert stressed that “Venezuelan migrants are economic migrants and do not have refugee status, since they have not gone through war, nor political or religious persecution”, this as part of the opinion matrix that Mission Verdad is desiring to dismantle.

In this regard, Vielma explained that “there is a caveat in the two migratory phenomenom, the international press presents the Honduran exodus as a ‘caravan’, that is, it shows it in a more friendly way”.

Vice-minister Castillo brought up the point that “the thousands of nationals who have returned to Venezuela thanks to the Plan Vuelta a la Patria” are not news for the international press.

Notably, last Friday arrived the seventh flight from Ecuador, there are already 658 repatriated from this country, another 658 repatriated from Peru, 171 nationals repatriated from Argentina, and thousands more from Brazil and Colombia.

This, thanks to the implementation of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria; which, according to official figures, a total of 8303 nationals have returned safely and free of charge to the country.
