President Maduro exhorts the European Union to know the deep Venezuelan democracy

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, headed Saturday the plenary of the Congress of Communes: “Commune Heart of the Homeland” in the Plaza Bicentenario of the Miraflores Palace. In this scenario of People’s Power, the President denounced the interventionist and neocolonialist actions of the European Union.

It was mainly addressed to the Ambassador of the European Union in Venezuela, Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa, and to Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

“You spend your time talking about Venezuela and you do not know Venezuela, you only receive reports from the State Department, and with that the European Union takes decisions in an interventionist and neocolonialist way about our country”, said the Venezuelan Head of State.

During his speech, Nicolás Maduro, exhorted the European ambassadors in Venezuela to know a deep democracy in the social.

“Go to the communities to visit the Venezuelan people so they can see this experience of the Communal Councils, the communes and direct democracy”, he said.

In this regard, the President highlighted “the work of 47,634 communal councils, which meet in a democratic assembly every day, and address the needs in issues such as public services, education, culture and food for their community”.

Also, he indicated that “this special and unique democracy must be shown to the world to face the elites that attack us”.
