With 146 votes in favor was approved on Tuesday afternoon, in the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), a resolution to allow the State of Palestine the right to make statements, present and co-sponsor proposals and amendments, give explanations of vote, have the right to respond in relation to the positions and to present procedural motions on behalf of the G77 + China.
Since November 2012, the State of Palestine has been an observer member of the Organization. In order to guarantee its rights, the General Assembly adopted resolution A / 73 / L.5, which allows taking actions on behalf of the multilateral group after being elected to chair the G77 + China Group during 2019.
The decision for Palestine to represent the 134 member states of the G77 + China was taken at the 42nd annual meeting of Ministers of Foreign Relations of the member States of the Group of 77, held on September 27, 2018.
Currently, the State of Palestine is a full member of the League of Arab States, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Group of Asian and Pacific States and the Group of 77.
