On Monday, the FM of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, held an interview for the program “Mañanas Blu”, of the Colombian radio station Blu Radio, where the topic of the various attempts on the part of the Bolivarian Government to communicate with the authorities of the Republic of Colombia was highlighted, after an alleged plot that would attempt against the life of President Iván Duque.

Likewise, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister reiterated that, on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, they have searched for the different ways to establish communications and thus support and coordinate intelligence efforts that allow the advancement of research.

“From the moment we learned of an alleged attack against President Duque, we have tried to communicate with Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo by telephone, through direct numbers, friends, his private secretary, senators and Vice-ministers, but it has been impossible to establish any communication”, Arreaza said.

In this regard, the Venezuelan diplomat highlighted the danger posed by the lack of communication between the Colombian authorities and Venezuela, “when there is no diplomacy, the war comes and we do not want the war that is why, in order to give answers to the Colombian government, we put some tweets offering our collaboration and support”. In turn, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, said that Venezuela has given immediate response to the government of New Granada, unlike the Colombian authorities, which despite requests for cooperation after the assassination attempt against President Nicolás Maduro, They have kept in total silence.

On the other hand, Arreaza made a call to the authorities of that country to reflect and to establish communication between both States, because the binational relations are currently fractured.

Finally, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister called on the Colombian government and people through the radio network to “collaborate and cooperate with peace and good relations between Venezuela and Colombia, because we have been bombarded by the international media”.

“Diplomacy must be imposed, relations of respect must be imposed, not aggression, not blockade, not war. Peace must be imposed. We make an affectionate call to the Colombian people, here is a people and a government that respects them, that loves them and that will fight incessantly for peace”, he said.
