This Friday, December 14 will be held the 16th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP), in the city of Havana.
The meeting will be an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of unity, cooperation and solidarity among the nations that make up the alliance and will allow to strengthen the capacity for consensus of this integrationist project devised by the commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro.
During the meeting, the Ministers and Heads of delegations of the organization’s member countries will make a balance of the objectives reached in 2018 and will outline the work actions in their different areas for the year 2019.
It is also expected the commemoration of the 14th anniversary of the foundation of this platform that has promoted cooperation projects such as: Misión Milagro, the Alba Cultural Fund, the Latin American School of Medicine, the multinational Telesur and the Sucre, a currency issued by the Banco del Alba with the purpose of valuing commercial and financial exchanges between the countries of the region.
Nations that integrate this mechanism will participate along with other invited countries and observers, among them; Haiti, Suriname, Saint Lucia and El Salvador.
