The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venzuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, reported on Saturday that legal actions against the government of the United States have already begun to defend the ownership of Citgo, a subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) that is located in the United States.
“We initiate the judicial actions and we are going to give the fight so that justice is done, justice in favor of the truth because Citgo does not belong to Donald Trump, it belongs to the noble people of Venezuela”, emphasized the Venezuelan Head of State.
It should be noted that this imperial action was rejected by the country, following unilateral US measures to take control of the bank accounts that are in the name of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) and the Venezuelan government, as part of the coup d’état that runs from the North American nation.
“The hawks of war, Marco Rubio, John Bolton and Mike Pompeo have deceived Trump, Venezuela does not surrender, we will not give our oil riches or become a gringo colony”, President Maduro said.
Through a statement, the country described this action as a “blatant robbery of a sovereign nation’s resources for the welfare of its people, revealing another edge of the coup plan activated directly from the White House, in order to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro and to seize the financial and natural resources of the people of Venezuela”.
In this regard, the Bolivarian Government reported that the corresponding legal measures will be taken in response to these actions and thus “face this new aggression and this unarguable imperial obsession to take control over oil, mineral and financial resources”.
