On Monday, as a result of work ordered and planned by the Bolivarian Government in collaboration with the People’s Republic of China, the second shipment of medicines and medical supplies from the Asian country arrived in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as part of the efforts to combat the devastating effects of the criminal economic blockade maintained by the US government against the Venezuelan people.
From the Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetía, the People’s Power Minister for Health, Carlos Alvarado, said that this second shipment of Humanitarian Technical Assistance, of 71 tons, will be distributed immediately to all the establishments of the National Public Health System , both from the People’s Power Ministry for Health and Social Security.
“They have to know that Venezuela has allies in the world, with this shipment of 71 tons already 166 tons of medicines that have arrived in the country from, for example, the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China and the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent”.
Minister Alvarado explained that as part of the trade and cooperation relations between Venezuela and China, more than 104 million dollars are also negotiated to continue supplying the health sector in the next six months.
“Venezuela, under the guidelines of President Nicolás Maduro, is making every effort to alleviate the situation of the blockade through the various conventions and agencies, such as the Pan American Health Organization and United Nations Organization”, he added.
