The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, arrived on Monday at the Republic of Cuba on an official visit on the occasion of the XVIII Meeting of the Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP).
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister was received in Habana by his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez.
The XVIII Political Council of ALBA-TCP will be held next May 21 in the capital of Cuba, with the participation of representatives of the member countries of this mechanism of Latin American and Caribbean integration.
Threats to regional peace and security, and solidarity and defense of the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela, will be among the driving themes of the agenda, which will allow continuing to deepen political consensus, explore new opportunities for integration and reaffirm the commitment to unity , cooperation and solidarity among the nations that make up the Alliance in the current regional conjuncture.
At its XVII meeting in Managua, the Political Council of ALBA-TCP expressed its full support to the government and people of Venezuela, a country that continues to resist the economic and financial blockade imposed by the United States government.
The Political Council of ALBA-TCP has the function of advising the Presidential Council on strategic political issues and presenting proposals for international policy issues for debate in that instance.
