Thanks to the coordination between the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the People’s Republic of China, this Saturday the second shipment of humanitarian technical assistance arrived in the country, to keep maintaining control and prevention of the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic that it is affecting all humanity.
Regarding the health contingency generated by Covid-19, Venezuela established a permanent air bridge with China, in order to guarantee the supplies and implements necessary for the detection of this virus.
This bilateral cooperation mechanism was installed in view of Venezuela’s difficulty in acquiring the necessary drugs to combat Covid-19, as a result of the unilateral, coercive, and illegal sanctions imposed by the United States government.
On March 19, the first shipment of technical aid from the Asian country arrived in Venezuela, with 4,000 diagnostic kits for the screening of the Covid-19.
Among the inputs received at that time are; medications, reagents, protective lenses, biosafety suits, air purifiers for health centers, among others.
At that time, the Executive Vice-president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, thanked the people of China and its President Xi Jinping, “for this show of affection, friendship and cooperation between our countries”.
