“I am willing to meet with all the sectors that want to talk about the coronavirus pandemic, the care of our people, and reach agreements with them based on the country’s, on national interests. Give up prides, sectarianism and conflicts” said Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro during a televised telephone conversation on Wednesday, March 25.
He said he is “ready to sit down with all the opposition sectors.”
The Venezuelan president proposed the apostolic nunciature as a potential venue to meet with the participation of opposition representatives and install a dialogue table for the protection of Venezuelans’ health.
“You say you don’t recognize me. I’ll attend as Nicolás Maduro. I don’t care if you don’t recognize me. The only thing I care is to work for Venezuela and to reach agreements for Venezuela,” he said.
President Maduro called for the cease of conspiracies, terrorism and violence to destabilize the country.
He invited opposition representatives to join the call so that the US unilateral coercive measures on Venezuela are lifted.
Earlier on Wednesday, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez informed that Venezuela has recoded 106 COVID-19 cases, which have been isolated and treated by following the protocols established by the World Health Organization (WHO).
