President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro pointed out that Venezuelans were made deceitful offers in other countries but they only found the reality of capitalism.
“We conducted a survey, and 97% of them left for economic reasons, trying to improve their lives, but they came face to face with the monster, with the demon of capitalism, the one guilty of all the ills suffered by the people,” he expressed.
The Venezuelan president stressed the quality of the attention authorities have given to these citizens.
He highlighted that they are the living example of Venezuela, a country suffering due to criminal sanctions, and that they faced fascism and racism outside their country.
“We gave freedom and name to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, to all America with our Liberator Simón Bolívar. That’s why I tell the people: Unity and dignity! Resistance, struggle and victory to have a Homeland!”
Likewise, he extolled the character of the Venezuelan people and their outstanding understanding of the current situation created by the pandemic, which can be only defeated with solidarity, as he referred to statements made by a group of Venezuelans who returned from Peru and expressed that Venezuela is a supportive people.
“Let’s take care of peace, quarantine, health, and address and resolve the issues we have in our community,” he urged.
President Maduro stressed that Venezuela has been in social, collective, self-quarantine for six weeks and that the Venezuelan people has fully observed it, helping keep the curve flattened and registering 288 COVID-19 patients.
