In the last 24 hours, 34 news COVID-19 cases were registered in Venezuela for a total number of 1,245 cases, informed Sectorial Vice-president of Communication, Culture and Tourism Jorge Rodríguez during a briefing at the Miraflores Presidential Palace.
Out of the new 34 cases, 2 are community transmission and 30 are imported cases from Colombia.
Rodríguez stressed that 77.8% of all cases are imported, and 11 deaths have been reported since the first case was diagnosed on March 13.
About the online survey on the Patria System, he said that 19,592,085 people have answered it.
Venezuela has done 897,695 tests, which represents 29,923 tests per 1 million population, leading Latin American and the Caribbean with the highest number of tests done.
So far, 50,686 Venezuelans have returned to the country across the border, said Rodríguez, including “30,280 through Tachira; 12,193 through Apure; and 5,581 through Zulia.”
