The number of Covid-19 infections in Venezuela increased to 455, after the detection of 15 new cases in the last 24 hours.

This was reported by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, after holding a working day on health matters held at Tiuna Fort, in Caracas.

The new infections are all imported from the countries: Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador and Chile and are located in the states of Amazonas, Bolívar, La Guaira and Táchira.

The diagnostic survey of the Patria System has been answered by more than 19 million Venezuelans, while 208 thousand 25 house-to-house visits have been made.

Venezuela has carried out 535 thousand 742 tests for the diagnosis of Covid-19, which represents 17 thousand 858 tests per million inhabitants.

Regarding the control of the entry of Venezuelans through the borders, he pointed out that more than 37 thousand nationals have returned to the nation, of which 84 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

Most of the cases are imported from Colombia and Brazil, which is why the Bolivarian Government has been emphasizing that all the prevention protocols established on the border line are respected.

Covid-19 Global Context

Brazil occupies the position number six of infections worldwide, adding 197 thousand 838 infected people, and more than 13 thousand deaths, while in Colombia the number rises to more than 12 thousand 900 affected.

Today the world registers more than 4 million 500 thousand cases and more than 302 thousand deaths, being the United States the epicenter of the pandemic with more than 1,400,000 confirmed cases and a fatality rate of 86 thousand 580.
