The International Commission of Spain’s Izquierda Unida (IU – United Left) party demands “respect to the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and its people.”
Izquierda Unida’s International Commission, “strongly rejects and condemns” the new attempted destabilization orchestrated against Venezuela and recently denounced by the authorities of this country, and perpetrated through an attempted marine incursion by a terrorist group on Sunday morning, Venezuela’s time.
Venezuela’s Minister for the Interior, Justice and Peace Néstor Reverol explained that this terrorist group came from Colombia and tried to enter the country on the coast of La Guaira state. The Venezuelan authorities have pointed out that the goal of this terrorist group was to perpetrate violent destabilizing actions to facilitate a coup d’état.
This operation was foiled by the Bolivarian security forces. During the operation, an armed confrontation took place, resulting in the death and arrest of some mercenaries, from whom a large number of weapons were seized.
Therefore, IU reiterates “its strong condemnation of this and all destabilizing attempts against Venezuela, its legitimate Government and its President, Nicolás Maduro.”
The IU International Commission demands “international respect to the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and its people.”
Likewise, this party demands the international community to “reject with total clarity all destabilizing attempts against the Venezuelan people and to oppose illegitimate and anti-democratic maneuvers, both domestic and foreign, to bring down the Presidency, the Government and the main political institutions of the country.”
