The workers of the Sao Paulo Metro are massively organized in a struggle union and have organized many strikes in recent years. A the relationship of forces has thus been created which has just enabled them to win over their demands, by the mere threat of a new massive, strong and determined strike.
The proposal, accepted by the Public Ministry of Labour and Secretary of Metropolitan Transport, was put to a vote at the General Assembly held from 6 to 10.30 p.m. on 27/7 ; it was approved by 84% of the staff concerned ; it guarantees the renewal of all the clauses of the collective agreement until 30/4/2021.
As a result, a new meeting was called as a matter of urgency and 1,754 people attended. 79.76% validated the suspension of the strike. This result was only possible thanks to the great mobilization of the staff.
1- Maintaining the night supplement of 50%, with payment of the 25% night supplement for the 6-month period, and deferring the difference of 25% of the night supplement, which must be paid in full within the following 6 months ;
2- Maintenance of the severance pay, with the guarantee of the acquired values until 30/04/2020, and the suspension of the applicability of the percentage for the 6-month period (01/05/2020 to 01/11/2020), with the resumption of the payment of the right acquired in this period in the 7th month, with the consequent payment of the respective values retroactively to the date of acquisition of the progression ;
3- Maintenance of the vacation bonus, with the postponement of the payment of the difference between the value of the bonus and the constitutional 1/3, for a period of 6 (six) months, with the consequent payment in the 7th month of the respective amounts retroactive to the date of enjoyment. When the agreement comes into effect, the value of the transport aid abolished from 30 June 2006 will be reimbursed ;
4- Renewal of the Collective Agreement, in all its clauses, for 12 months with validity from 01/05/2020 to 30/04/2021 ;
5- Maintenance of the overtime premium at 100%, with the payment of an additional 50% for the 6-month period, and the deferral of the difference of 50% of the overtime premium, which must be paid in full in the following 6 months, except for compulsory overtime, which must be paid in full (100%).
