In the last 24 hours, Venezuela registered 282 COVID-19 cases, 239 out of which are due to community transmission and 43 are imported cases for a total of 7,692 cases, informed Vice-president of Communication, Culture and Tourism Jorge Rodríguez in a telephone briefing on Tuesday with state-run TV station Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
Rodríguez explained that the 239 cases due to community transmission were detected in Sucre (121), Zulia (43), Miranda (24), Capital District (14), Yaracuy (13), Carabobo (7), Lara (5), Anzoátegui (5), Mérida (3), Portuguesa (2), La Guaira (1) and Barinas (1).
“The virus is in all parishes. You must comply with the biosecurity measures. Don’t leave home unless it is necessary,” he urges.
Regarding imported cases, 35 come from Colombia, 4 from Peru, 2 from Brazil and 2 from Ecuador.
Likewise, Rodríguez reported 3 deaths, 2 in the Capital District and 1 in Zulia State for a total of 71 deaths in Venezuela.
He also informed about the current condition of patients, and reported that out of the 7,693 cases, 2,100 have recovered, and 5,522 are still active, 4,766 out of which are in sentinel hospitals, 684 in Comprehensive Diagnosis Centers and 72 in private clinics.
In Venezuela, the Bolivarian Government has done 1,336,021 tests, representing 44,534 tests per 1 million population.
