Faced with the false information disclosed by the Government of the Republic of Colombia on the alleged suspension of the entry of Venezuelan citizens to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela through the common border, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, accused the New Granada President Iván Duque’s administration of being “a fake news factory”.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister rejected such an assertion that tries to contribute to the “maximum pressure” campaign promoted by the United States to destabilize the nation.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, @jaarreaza, the Head of Venezuelan diplomacy assured that “in Venezuela we receive our compatriots with the most rigorous biosafety protocols”, to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, being the nationals from Colombia that represent the highest number of positive cases due to international contagion in Venezuelan territory.

Foreign Minister Arreaza assured that the New Granada Administration “always uses tendentious lies. They are a Fake News factory. A government expert in false positives in all its forms”, after this falsehood of the New Granada government with the support of the Venezuelan right, who declare that “Venezuela suspends the entry of its nationals through the Simón Bolívar International Bridge as of tomorrow.”
Although Migración Colombia and the “representatives” of deputy Juan Guaidó in the neighboring country began to give force to this false information to try to generate a new crisis by prohibiting “the transit of buses with Venezuelan citizens” to the border in the Department of North from Santander, the reality is that the Simón Bolívar International Bridge was disinfected in the morning as part of the protocol to combat the pandemic and as of 10:00 am on Friday, August 21, nationals began to enter.
