Egypt: WFTU in solidarity with garment workers in Cairo

The World Federation of Trade Unions, which represents 105 million workers in 132 countries on the five continents, expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the twenty workers who lost their life yesterday when a fire broke out at a clothing factory in Obour city, near Cairo. Other twenty-four workers were injured. The world’s militant trade union movement reiterates our stable position for urgent and adequate health and safety measures at the workplaces, which assure the life and safety of workers.
