The WFTU Teleconference for the working women of Latin America and the Caribbean, organized on March 23, 2021 in the framework of International Women’s Day, under the topic: “One year of COVID-19 Pandemic: What are the new challenges for the working women and how to respond?” was successfully held with the participation of forty women trade unionists from 10 countries of the region. The members of the WFTU Women’s Committee from Brazil, Peru and Panama, as well as many other women militants took the floor to describe the situation they are facing and the struggles for the protection of the health and working rights of women and men workers in their country. Colleague Grace Mathapelo Khanye, the WFTU Women’s Committee Coordinator from NUM, South Africa, participated and intervened in the Conference.
