Towards Election Day, Mass Anti-Netanyahu Protests Being Planned

With just 10 days left until the March 23 general elections, the nation’s fourth in two years, protesters rallied across Israel on Saturday evening, March 13, for the 38th week in a row, holding widespread demonstrations against far-right Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his indictment on graft charges and his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. The main demonstrations were held outside the Prime Minister’s official residence in Jerusalem and close to Netanyahu’s private home in the coastal city of Caesaria. Several hundred demonstrators gathered in each of the locations. Smaller protests took place along highway overpasses and at major intersections around the country.
