SACP Free State calls for objective introspection and intervention in the interest of inclusive, fair and democratic renewal of the ANC in Free State

3 April 2021 The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Free State Province notes the Supreme Court of Appeal’s outcome which declared the previous ANC Free State provincial conference unlawful and unconstitutional. The SACP in Free State views this decision in serious light, given its implication on the work of the movement and associated tasks of discharging leadership to society at large. The SACP urges the national leadership of the ANC to speedily intervene, in a manner that unites and uproot the fault lines of disunity in the province, in their historical manifestations. Whilst the SACP in the province does not encourage the use of courts to decide on party political matters, the SACP appeals to the ANC, its structures and leadership to accept and use this moment for objective reflection and introspection.
