PAME Greece

Thousands demonstrated in the morning of Wednesday June 16, in front of the Greek Parliament denouncing the proposed anti-workers bill that will abolish the 8hour and trade union rights. The Government, the ship owners and airport cargo companies filed restraining orders against the strike. They tried to ban the strike with court orders and slander. These tactics were supported by the leadership of the GSEE, ETUC member in Greece, which did not support the call for strike. Against these tactics the class unions with picket lines in industries, ports, and workplaces all over Greece froze transports, ships and metro.
