In the summer of 2014, Donbass towns and villages underwent heavy shelling by Ukraine’s armed formations, and the number of civilian casualties was daily increased. 27 July is one of the tragic dates. On that day, columns of Ukrainian armoured vehicles moved towards Shakhtyorsk from two directions. The city centre of Gorlovka came under heavy artillery fire. The pictures of Kristina Zhuk and her 10-month-old daughter Kira killed by Ukraine went all over the world. The pain we experienced is impossible to forget. The war has changed us and our lives forever. These atrocities against humanity have no statute of limitations, they have been documented and constitute the register of war crimes of Ukraine. The perpetrators will be punished. We continue to live, defend the Republic, work for the benefit of our children and in memory of those who their lives fighting for freedom.
