On Saturday of 28 August, the Armed Forces of Ukraine engaged fire on the locality of Gorlovka in violation of the international humanitarian law requirements prohibiting attacks on civil objects and attacks of an indiscriminate nature during military operations, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Donetsk People’s Republic reports. “Two minor children, a 9-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, suffered injuries of varying severity as a result of Saturday’s shelling by the AFU. The above stated actions of the AFU constitute an immediate violation of the provisions of Art. 3, Paragraph 1 of the Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of 12 August 1949. I have filed official reports with the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, UNICEF and the International Committee of the Red Cross urging the latter to respond to this incident in order to prevent such crimes in the future,” Daria Morozova stated.  The post The DPR Ombudsperson has filed reports with international organizations regarding the children injured in Gorlovka first appeared on DPR Official site.
