Solidarity Resolution with LARCO Metalworkers in Greece

Greece

PAME Greece

The unions that we sign this resolution declare our support for the struggle of LARCO industry workers in Greece who are fighting against the devaluation of the company and its sale to private funds. LARCO workers have been fighting for more than 22 months with strikes, rallies, occupations and other actions demanding the safeguarding of jobs and the rights of over 2000 workers as well as the termination of the procedures and plans of the Greek Governments to hand over LARCO to private funds. The governments of Greece promote the privatization of industry by applying the guidelines of the European Union, serving the wishes of big business groups that in the context of the so-called “green growth” want to seize LARCO and the country’s mineral wealth by exploiting for their interests the huge potential and prospects of the company, especially through the utilization of cobalt and nickel in new technologies for electrification and energy storage. The Governments attack LARCO workers with lies and slander, while at the same time by degrading the operation of the factory on a daily basis, endangering the safety and lives of workers. Against these plans the LARCO workers continue their struggle for more than 22 months with demands To ensure the continuation of the operation of LARCO. Ensure all jobs and workers’ rights.   The unions that sign this Resolution we support the just demands of the LARCO workers and express our solidarity with them We call on the Greek Government to satisfy the just demands of LARCO workers Trade Union Organization – Country To sign the Resolution, send an email with the name and country of your union to international@pamehellas.gr   The post Solidarity Resolution with LARCO Metalworkers in Greece appeared first on Πανεργατικό Αγωνιστικό Μέτωπο (Π.Α.ΜΕ.).
