OSČMS on the critical situation on the Railways in Czech Republic

Trade Union Association of Bohemia, Moravia & Silesia (OSČMS), Czech Republic, the WFTU affiliate, expresses its full support and solidarity to the TU Association of Railway Workers, the Federation of Engine Drivers and other TUs working within today’s liberalized railway transport. We express our sympathy with anybody to be injured during the railway accidents, wishing those people quick recovery. We offer, too, our sympathy over the loss of their nearest and dearest to the families of the dead victims of the railway accidents.

Czech Peace Movement condemns destruction of Marshal Konev’s memorial in Prague

The Czech Peace Movement strongly condemns the shameful destruction of the memorial of Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Stepanovich Konev, commander of the Red Army which 75 years ago brought freedom and peace to Prague. The leadership of the Municipal Dictrict Prague 6 headed by mayor Ondřej Kolář disgracefully ordered the destruction of said memorial, which for four decades symbolized gratitude for liberators of our capitol and country from fascist’s occupation and terrors of the World War II.

Statement of OSČMS on the case of harassment in the Škoda Factory

The Trade Union Association of Bohemia, Moravia & Silesia (OSČMS) strongly condemns the harassment of a part of regular workforce towards the employees to be hired by the recruitment agency for the Škoda join-stock Company in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic (to be “strategically” sold by the Czechoslovak State into the hands of Volkswagen A.G., Germany, in early 1990s). Czech Communists likely to tolerate the coalition government

The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (CPBM) announced that the Xth Congress had officially ended with the National Congress which gathered on April 21st in Nymburk, central Bohemia. The delegation attended the event focused on the issues such as renewal of the party programme, organizational restructuring and tolerating the new coalition government of ANO and Social Democrats.
