Berlin: Thousands rallied in honor of Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht

Despite the pandemic, approximately 3,000 people participated today, Sunday 10 January, in the traditional rally in Berlin dedicated to the commemoration of the murdered communist leaders Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht. Despite the peaceful character of the demonstration, the police tried to disperse the protesters by attacking the crowd and creating a tense during an hour.

Ende Gelände ends action weekend

Today, the international climate justice movement “Ende Gelaende” (“Here And No Further!”) declared the end of the action weekend. More than 3,000 activists blocked coal and gas infrastructure in Rhineland mining area in western Germany. Ende Gelaende calls for an end to all fossil fuel and a fundamental system change. As part of the action an anti-colonial group of activists set an anti-racist focus in context of the worldwide Black-Lives-Matter protests.

Collective action against „Spargelhof Ritter“ in Bornheim

Since Friday, May 15, many seasonal workers, working at „Spargelhof Ritter“ are on strike. It‘s about salaries not payed till now. The workers should be paid between 1,500€ to 2,000€ a month. After one month of hard work the farmer paid only 100€ to 300€. Coal-fired power station in Datteln nine hours blocked

Today, ca 150 people from Ende Gelände and DeCOALonize Europe occupied the premises of the coal-fired power station Datteln 4 near Dortmund, Germany. For nine hours they blocked loading facilities and band-conveyors. Their action of civil disobedience was a protest against the new coal-law of the German goverment and the devastating consequences of hard-coal mining in Russia and Columbia.
